A bideford social enterprise company has gained one of only threegrants made by international computer giant Microsoft in the UK.
The TTS charity group sells services such as training courses andinvests the profits in helping disadvantaged youngsters andunemployed people.
In recognition the Microsoft Corporation has awarded it asubstantial five figure sum, and some software programs. The grantwill buy equipment and employ new trainers.
TTS chief executive Brett Parker said: "The synergy between aWest Country charity and a global corporation may seem unlikely, butin a large, predominantly rural regions, like ours, communicationand internet accessibility is vital.
"Microsoft has recognised the importance in giving our clientsaccess to computers, training and digital communication and how thecorrect use of technology can help people move their lives in apositive direction."
Microsoft representatives are due to visit the TTS KeystoneCentre in Bideford on March 22 to discuss how the money will bespent.
